My Story
I spent the majority of my life either competitively swimming, running miles with friends, or being a gym bunny {hello, 4am crew}. I have always been on the more 'dense' side, always athletic but struggled to find the right nutrition to fuel my body for optimum performance.
Fast forward to 36 years old and when we welcomed our first baby.
I almost died at 9 days post-partum due to severe postpartum preeclampsia and an infection that was bordering septic. I went into pregnancy healthy, even working out the morning my water broke- and came out with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, pre-diabetic, liver disease, numerous kidney infections, and a broken foot due to the rapid swelling.
I decided to take a CTA - nope, not call to action. But a CELEBRATE to action.
I hired my own health coach and leaned into a more whole-foods approach while keeping my body moving. I reversed all the issues above and never felt better. I celebrated what I could do on any given day and through the process learned so much more about myself.
Before starting this journey toward my optimum health, I spent over 15 years in non-profit development and corporate sales. I have an MBA from Georgia Southern University and also a passion for echinoderms- hint, Sea Stars and Sea Urchins. I am the founder and race director of the 140 over 90 Run (charity run for the Preeclampsia Foundation).
I have coached runners to the finish line of their first half marathon or 5k and helped many sweat it out on a spin bike. If you want to read the rest of my credentials, feel free to read below, but know that the one I am most proud of is: self-proclaimed "best playlist creator" for spin class. I have completed countless 5ks, 10ks, half marathons, two full marathons, and a Half Ironman. I find my happy in moving my body, however that may be for the season of life.
I am the proud wife of my wicked smart & handsome husband who loves adventure as much as I do. We have two kiddos who are the joys of our life. As a family, we love to be weekend warriors to explore new trails and spend time outside.
I am also pretty lucky with the best friends a gal could ask for. They are always up for my crazy ideas, adventures, and offer their love, support, and cheers.
